22/10/21 Kalbarri wildflowers

Leaving Galena Bridge , we head in toward Kalbarri . After about 20 klms you reach the National Park boundary , and then the flowers start . Now for those of you who haven't been to WA , most of the flowers are really small , most of these photo's are close ups to show the beauty of the flowers - names of the flowers aren't included because we don't know them 😆😆😆
These ones we hadn't seen before and they are so intricate and very pretty .

These were past their best , but still good to see .

    Here's a closer view of them .

This one is tiny and there weren't many of them .

This is beside the road to Kalbarri , the grey bush is Smokebush and looks brilliant .

    These are buttercups .

This is a red strap flower .

    Another extremely small flower

Size doesn't change , just the colour .

Then we stumbled upon this white flower - stunning !!

Another roadside view , flowers stretching off into the distance .

Not sure which part of this is the flower - the tiny white part - probably not , the yellow parts would be the stamen with the pollen .

This one has the unfortunate name of Smelly Socks - and it can be an overwhelming smell .

As you drive along there are sections where you'll get a lot of one type of bush & flower , then that will disappear and another bush will dominate etc etc etc - it is such a great drive when the flowers are out .

This pink bush was still coming out and will be awesome in a week or two .

Another stunning single flower about the size of a ten cent piece .

More smoke bush and others .

Then we had some of the locals wander across the road oblivious to the traffic .

More in the next blog .
