10/7/22 Bribie Island

I arranged a game of golf with Kym & Caroline and today was the day . Making our way to Bribie was interesting , we had bumper to bumper traffic all the way up the motorway and Bribie Rd - at least until they all started turning off at Abbey . There was a medieval fare on this weekend and was very popular !! Once past the turnoff , the traffic disappeared and the rest of the drive was easy . We stopped just after going over the bridge and had a short walk around & the obligatory toilet break . Here's some of the rental boats & canoes .

Glasshouse Mountains always seem to get in the picture .

 A closer look .

We met Kym & Caroline at the Woorim Golf Club at about 10:15 am and got organised , Lyn took the ute & went for a drive to the beach , parked and then went for a ride across the island and back via a great bike track . Golf was good and bad , but I played to my handicap which was good for my 2nd game since February ! The course was in good condition considering all the rain they've had . It's a relatively flat course , with good fairways , bunkers & greens , a nice place to wander around .
Golf finished and Lyn came back to the club and we had a few drinks and more conversation before departing . Not sure when we'll get together again , as we are moving north tomorrow .
We stopped at the park beside the channel and watched sunset - thought that might clear some of the traffic going back to Brisbane .

That would have been good , but the volume of traffic was more than when we came this morning . Stopping for fuel in Caboolture , we looked at the old road - it was chockers and not moving , so we went back to the motorway and joined the gridlock there instead . It took a while , but traffic started to move and clear a little bit . Before we knew it , we were back to our turnoff and away from the stream of headlights going both directions .
