A nice day greeted us , so out for a drive around the beaches . First stop however was Pink Lake . Normally it's pretty dry this time of year and they race wind yachts around it , today however there was plenty of water in it , salt sections around the edges .
Our next stop was 11 Mile Beach , a beautiful stretch of beach going to the right . Well not so much beach , but a lagoon created by a limestone shelf . It makes a great swimming area , and we've seen people fishing out off the rock shelf previously . The water temperature certainly wasn't hot , and put us off having a swim . We did go up & down the stairs though .
The stairs go both to the left and right , to the left takes you down to 11 Mile Lagoon - at the moment though it's more beach . On previous visits it was a great lagoon , people swam there and also swam their horses as well .
Here's the stairs to the right .
Better still , here's a view from above . The stairs curl down from the top right of photo . The limestone shelf shows up quite well .
Further along the road is 9 Mile Lagoon . We viewed it from the carpark and didn't bother with the stairs this time .
Onwards again to Twilight Beach on the top left and Lovers Cove on the right hand side of the headland.
Here's Twilight Beach from the ground , the bushfire damage from last year still taking it's time to recover .
This one is Salmon Beach - where the men were fishing the other day . West Beach is in the background , with Esperance middle top of photo .
That was our afternoon drive around , but we were also treated to a beautiful sunset that snuck up on us . Here's the view over the side fence of the caravan park .
