8/7/18 Time to catch up with friends

We went to Port Sampson to catch up with Len & Jane , who we met 3 years ago at Kununurra on our first trip across the top . They are also escaping the cold of Perth for a while . After checking the first park at Port Sampson , we ventured to the second and went for a walk finding them quickly . We chatted for several hours before heading off again .
The day was excellent with very light winds and a pleasant 28 degrees , and not many people around .
Point Sampson is not a large place by any stretch , but has some great views , the first of which is Honeymoon Cove Beach .

The rocks here are ancient and would have an interesting story to tell .

This is Port Walcott - an iron ore loading facility .

This is looking back over Point Sampson township , and that's all of it .

From here we headed around to Cossack , a old village beside the Harding River . Not much has survived in Cossack , only 8 buildings remain and the wharf  . This is the view from Reader Lookout back toward Cossack .

 This is Settlers Beach .

The lighthouse is on Jarman Island , and there's also the ruins of the light keepers house .

Another view of Settlers Beach .

Views back toward Wickham and all the rocky ridges .

There were some Spinifex Pigeons sitting on a rock not far from us .

And these are down on Settlers Beach , and while the day was a pleasant temperature , the water temperature was a bit cool .

The sand was soft and not always easy to walk on .

Time had slipped away so we headed back to Karratha , here's a map link :- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Jndcc6miMHWwoUQ7cjnt_lEuwZghv3bu&usp=sharing
