Now down the road a bit further , back to Albany . We were here 3 years ago and they were working on an attraction at Torndirrup NP at The Gap . It was supposed to be open , but it was running behind schedule - it opened after we'd left that time . Well this is it - a huge stainless steel structure , paths , walkways and signage - it's capable of supporting 7 elephants !! or 27 tonne !!
The platform juts out over an opening in the cliff 30m above the water , giving great views downward .
As we were there it started to rain - typical Albany weather , if you don't like it , just stick around for 10 mins - it will change . The rain stopped shortly after , not enough to get very wet .
Another short walk leads you to Natural Bridge , where a section of rock has been eroded away to leave this magnificent arch of rock .
This part of the coast is amazing .
This is Cable Beach - not Broome , but Albany . You can see steps down to the rocks and beach , fishermen standing on the rocks fishing . The 2 people at the top of the steps were being filmed for a commercial or something - they were perched there for over an hour .
The drone came out again , this is around to the right of the previous photo , to the lighthouse .
This next one was directly below us and the dark mark just above centre of photo is a stingray .
Around and into the NP a little further is the Blowhole , a 800m downhill walk and 78 steps down took us past some stunning scenery .
The blowhole is to the left of this shot and isn't what you'd expect - think Kiama Blowhole , but nothing like it haha - this is a gap in the rocks that has a cave below and as the ocean closes in the cave the air rushes out this gap above . You can stand on it if you're silly enough , beside it or back from it , but the noise of the air rushing up is quite disconcerting . In high seas it would be spraying water upwards , but not in the volumes as other blowholes .
That's it for today here's a map link :- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1m3o3wZm4dq9gkQBDYnNilSYsSJorMtXR&usp=sharing
