15/9/20 Barn Hill 8&9

Time for another walk along the beach , hopefully all the way to the far headland . It did take our time away though , checking out all the rocks & shells washed up on the beach - again lot's of different colours & patterns in them .

The totems took on a new look in silhouette .

More of the little ironstone type rocks in amongst the white rock - my black lens cap is there to give you some idea of the size .

This was another just sticking out of the other sandstone rock

Could you get tired of this view ?

The rocky headland started to show some of it's mysteries , yes I know more rocks , but they are fascinating , different colours & patterns .

The drone went for a fly here as well , the water was getting a bit high to get around the headland and back again safely , so I stayed on the side I arrived on and let the drone do the sight seeing for me .

It is starting to get more humid up here and today it was a bit more than recently , we had clouds forming .

This is looking toward the Eco Resort - it's in the top right of photo .

We wandered back down the beach trying to find somewhere to get in for a swim , but the waves were dumping right on the beach , making it very hard to get in - we made our way back and went & had a cool shower on the way back up to the van . We sat for the rest of the afternoon .
Sunset didn't let us down , and was a fitting end to our time here at Barn Hill - we only came for 3 nights , but ended up staying for 9 !!!! and could have stayed for longer , but we got some of our dates mixed up . It's a spectacular place that we've enjoyed greatly - it may be because it was quieter than it would normally be , but it was a bit sad to be leaving , it is a place we'll come back to .

Heading off next day , we drove down to De Grey free camp . It was a hot day , the temp nudging 40 degrees as we drove along . Our tyre pressure monitors were telling us the tyre temperature was 49 degrees as we sat in the ute waiting to get fuel at Sandfire Roadhouse . We got to De Grey and pulled up in the same place we had on the way up . The sun gradually went down and the temperature dropped a bit - we enjoyed a shower outside - that cooled us down nicely !

Next day we headed into Port Hedland , set up , then shopped for food - we'd used most of our supplies , judging by the size of the bill !!

Spent the next couple of days catching up with our friends Garry & Linda .

We are heading south now and will be out of service for a few days , stay tuned .
