17/2/22 Around Pinjarra

Here we are again , relentless hot weather has slowed us right down - February had 8 days that were below 30 - and only just !! But we cant complain too much , eastern states are getting very wet .
So we'll start with a sunset , and some clouds . We went for a walk the other day and it was strange to see clouds in the sky . These ones started to appear about an hour before the sun set , so it was hard not to look as the clouds changed colour .

A different photo this time - a photo of a photo in progress .

And here is that photo on the camera .

Searching the maps , we found somewhere we hadn't been before , it wasn't far from Pinjarra and probably not that well known , as the road you take is also access for the Alcoa smelter workers . North Spur Rd takes you up onto the Darling Scarp, but first you drive through some Eucalypt forest , and it was all in blossom . The Marri Trees here are all going gangbusters with blossom , we've never seen so much before - the photo doesn't do it justice , but there are more photos in a bit .

Up on the scarp is South Dandalup Dam , we'd been here before , it all came flooding back to us as we drove down & over the dam wall - we think it is about the same height as when we were here last .

After visiting here , we headed back along Scarp Rd and went for a swim at Scarp Pool . That will appear in the next blog .
Here's some more flowering Marri Trees - the hay fever is going pretty well also .

I'm sure we've talked about the grass trees in WA , There are million and millions of them , just down the road from here is a large paddock - probably about 50acres in the old measurement - and they'd be about 15 acres of grass trees !!
Here's the contrasting colours in this area , orange bauxite road , grass trees , flowering Marri trees , blue sky and very dry, golden brown paddocks .

There are also some magnificent gumtrees , beautiful colours .

Here's some of the blossom around Pinjarra .

Some more shots of Murray River , we walked further up the river at the park , and met up with the track we'd done previously .

Another day finished with some more cloud showing it's colours

These trees made for a good photo .

There it is , keep reading for the follow on in the next blog .
