We left Fraser Range Station after the fog had lifted - no point driving in fog as well as not knowing the road . The woodland surrounded the roads all the way to Kalgoorlie , it is really dense , trees may not be large , but there’s plenty of them though .
Clay pans also started to appear making for some visual relief from the trees .
Things then got interesting , Salmon Gums started to appear in greater numbers , and the sun was getting them at the right angle , we stopped a couple of times to have a closer look . It was almost hypnotising walking in amongst them , they seemed to draw you in further and further as another beautiful tree appeared .
One tree appeared to be bleeding red as well , upon closer inspection , the sap has crystalised on some of the bark , reflecting the sunlight .
Arriving at Norseman , we headed north , Lake Cowan appeared beside the road and was there for quite a long way - there was water in it , but on the other side from us - it may even have been a mirage - heat haze .
Road trains started to appear more frequently now , with roads into mine sites coming far more regularly .
Arriving in Kalgoorlie after lunch , we found some accomodation for the next 5 days and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon .
