ANZAC Day arrived , our colds/ flu had kicked back in again , sleep wasn't our friend !! We decided not to share this wonderful bug with lot's of people , so stayed away from the services , opting instead to go for a short one kilometre walk along the break wall at St Kilda - now before you start thinking we've moved to Melbourne , there is a St Kilda just north of Adelaide . It's a small village with a huge playground , a boat ramp , a boat owners club , a hotel and a fishing / fish & chip shop and a break wall that is one kilometre long . This is the break wall , beside it is the canal back to the boat ramp .
This end of the break wall also gets wet when the tide comes in . It's an important area for birdlife , and has the most black swans we've ever seen in one place !!
All those dark dots in the photo are swans - and this is only one part of the wetlands !!!
This is the playground - it has been built on what was a rubbish tip - there are huge slippery dips - 40m long and all steel - that must be great on a 30 degree day - the kids are using cardboard to slide down on . There's a couple of flying foxes that are close to to 45m long , sand pits , swings - like back in the old days with chains about 7m long - nothing politically correct about this place - get out there and play kids !! They have Bbq's & shelters that get used & abused every day .
Today the carpark is full with boat trailers and cars , people & kids everywhere .
This is the view from the break wall over to Port Adelaide .
The ship in the photo is a controversial one - it is one used for transporting live cattle & sheep .
It was very still , the horizon blurred into the sky , making for a great photo.
There are many cormorants using this area as well , it is an important area for migratory birds as well .
We've been graced with another smashing sunset .
That was our ANZAC Day , here's a map link :- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Hz9tnCFC-4oi18p2HJDW6d02jmd83z91&usp=sharing
