Well we re still here waiting for some repairs to be done , they've looked at the van and needed to book us in after Anzac Day .
Time for some sight seeing around the place , todays trip was to Gawler , some 20 odd kilometres from us . Driving into town we were struck by the architecture - so many beautiful old buildings . We found the information centre and got some brochures for walks and rides around town . The rides interested us , but the wind deterred us from riding - it was quite strong - so away we went on a walk around town .
Some gum trees in the park outside the information centre took our eye .
The Bunyip building houses the Bunyip Newspaper and has done for years - more about local news issues .
Then there are several hotels , here's 2 .
Essex House was next , big display windows and high ceilings and had the flying fox system for paying for your goods years ago - money and invoice was sent to the cashier via a cable system , invoice and change was sent back again - it's still all in place .
This is inside - cables visible going to cashiers box .
Banks and the post office as well .
Lunch back in the park and then off on a tourist drive around town - more great buildings & houses .
Further on we found Para Para - it was once the home of Walter Duffield - a renowned pastoralist and member of parliament .
Gawler Public School
Then there were a few church's - these 2 face each other about 400m apart .
We were all building'd out by now , so we called it a day . Here's where we were :- https://drive.google.com/open?id=16JY46b1K6iMDoevzXyQWSvHXq1wy3a8c&usp=sharing
