Off To Croydon Or Normanton

The birds were awake early today , so were we , but dozed off to wake again at 7:30 , It’s moving day , and it looks like Croydon or maybe Normanton , time will tell .
We packed and chatted to neighbours before heading off at 9:30 , Croydon being the destination to start with . Lyn decided she would drive today , and she got to experience single lane tar road driving - we had about 30klms of it !!!
We only met about 20 cars , caravans/ trucks etc between Georgetown & Croydon , but most we met were on the single lane section - she handled it with ease , even the ones that kept going at 100klm/hour in the gravel . We got sprayed with rocks a couple of times , but most were good & slowed down .
The vegetation changed regularly , with different trees & shrubby bush . Occasionally you would get a section with a lot of grevilleas , then they would disappear again and other types would reappear again .
There are a lot of photos on the fly today .

We reach Croydon and go out to Lake Belmore for a look , with the view of going for a paddle tomorrow - the lake is about 10m lower than normal , so we had some lunch and decided to head further west to Normanton .

We had left the highland area and now were more in the lower plains , not many hills anymore , lots of straight road , and we followed the train tracks for most of the trip . The Gulflander leaves Normanton for trips to Croydon on Wednesday , returning on Thursday , for the train buffs out there!!
We cruised into Normanton and discovered we had phone and internet again , so tonight is going to be busy checking emails , paying bills & catching up .
We had another swim this afternoon , then a spa to warm back up - the swimming pool was refreshing to say the least !! Temperatures got up to 30 today , so the swim was nice to cool down in - we are still pinching ourselves - swimming in Winter - who’d have thought ???
