After 4 nights at Littlestone , we headed back towards Portsmouth , some side roads were taken to get us to the Seven Sisters . The laneways were nice and tight again , and we finally found somewhere where you could pull over and see a view of the countryside . We were near the coast - a mile or 2 away - and there were plenty of people out & about having a tramp in the countryside , or on mountain bikes - the public pathways were as busy as the roads !!
Down the road a little further , I spotted the White Horse up near the top of a hill .
Very shortly after , we were at the Seven Sisters National Park , but we kept going to get to the coast where the Seven Sisters are . Traffic was getting busier and busier , bus after bus after bus , then another overflow carpark acrosss the road from the Coastal Rescue Building , and the National Trust Cafe & info centre , where I had to walk over to get some coins for parking again . Asking for change to feed the machine again , the lady behind the counter let me pay there & then , before I walked back to put the ticket on the dash . There were people everywhere , in the cafe , carpark and all around on the walking trails . We headed up the hill to get a view - we weren't disappointed !!
This isn't one of the sisters , but the dark skies behind made it a bit more dramatic . You can see a walking track just behind the cliffs - very well used area .
The stairs down to the beach ??? were a popular attraction as well .
These are 4 of the sisters - each rise is a sister , again walking tracks are easily seen behind the cliffs .
We spotted a cave or 2 whilst taking the view in .
The sun came through occasionally , making the cliffs stand out more - or was it the clouds just getting darker ???
This view you can see all the sisters and some of the people wandering around .
We could see rain squalls approaching the furthest headland , so made a strategic decision to go back to the car where our raincoats were . Stopping at the beach steps for a photo of the flower lined cliffs and the beach stones .
