After another full day yesterday , we decided it would be good to have a bit of a chill day , so only went for a walk from the hotel down into Horz . This fuel station was not far away - these prices are Swiss Francs , which is similar in value to the British Pound - so that's about $3.80 Aus for petrol & $3.90 for diesel , so it's like most things is Switzerland - Expensive !!
Just across the road from the service station was a car dealership - on closer inspection it was a Ferrari Dealership , with several 2nd ones inside - this one was a cheap one , only 119,000 Swiss Francs !!
Time for some lunch at a local restaurant , they don't serve single pizza's that you can share , so we had a small one each . The apple juice and beer were good , the pizza's , well they could have been better , especially seeing they where over 20 francs each !
Some of the houses have this as their external cladding . It looks to be 3ply plyboard in about 4 layers .
There was a church just up the hill , so we headed up there . Beside the church was a large cemetery with some of the biggest weeping birches we've ever seen . The side door of the church was open , so in we go - funny - we've spent more time in churches over the last 3months than we have in the last 3 years 😆 This one was very neat & tidy , large organ one end , pulpit the other
While being plain on the outside , inside was a bit more elaborate , painted ceilings & decorated pews .
This is the front of the church , with Pilatus in view on the right .
I have included another point on the map , it is community garden plot that covers a large amount of land beside the railway and roads & paths we have been walking beside . It is kept in great condition generally, with flowers & vegetables being grown in abundance .
