7&8/6/16 Still in the coral

Well , yesterday was certainly a contrast in weather , there were clouds , lots of blue sky , some rain and a whole wind tunnel full of wind !! A cold front came through overnight and certainly cooled things down , getting down to 11 overnight ( the best was yet to come ) and only 22 degrees during the day .
After lunch we decided to get off our backsides and go for a walk , there is a hill/sand dune behind us and overlooks Coral Bay , you can also spot our ute & rv .

There are a few crosses on top of the hill - dog's graves apparently - there's 4 or 5 of them . The wind was getting stronger , but that didn't deter us , we kept going up to the next hill - it even had a survey marker at the top . After reaching there we could see the self serve fuel station , so headed to it, there wasn't a track , so we made our own !! Reaching there , we checked the fuel price - $1.36 for diesel and more for unleaded !! We may fill up before leaving , although we haven't used any fuel since arriving last Thursday - the ute hasn't moved !! That's one thing we like about here -  everything is in walking distance .
Wandering on , we found our way to the beach and continued on our large loop walk back to the main beach and back to the van .

Today ( Wednesday ) , we wake to find the wind blowing again , colder though , getting down to 9 degrees !! this is very unusual for here - the average minimum is 13 and the high is 24 - today we got to 20 !! We've had the air con on heat , and the tracksuit pants are out and in use again - we even have socks on tonight !!! Not Happy !!
After chatting to our neighbours Kim & Caroline ( also 5th wheeler owners ) for a few hours ,  we had lunch at 2pm , and decided to go for a walk to Skeleton Beach again . The tide was going out so we had enough sand and rock to walk on . The tide was leaving interesting patterns on the sand and around the rocks .

The limestone ridge was showing why it's called Skeleton Beach .

The sun was also shimmering in the small waves coming onto the beach , making for a nice photo .

After wandering up the beach a few kilometres we headed back , here's view back toward Coral Bay.

The sun blazing down on us was keeping our backs warm - t shirt , jumper and a wind jacket and shorts of course !! The sun was also reflecting nicely over the water and out to the horizon .

That's about it for today , hopefully the weather cooperates soon and warms up - we are over the Tropic of Capricorn again - this weather is meant to be further south and one of the main reasons we are up here now !!
