Down the highway once more , most times we've turned off toward Wagga , but today we kept heading south . Most of this road has changed since we drove it last - a lot of it was still single lane , now it's dual lane all the way to Albury .
We pulled off the highway and went into Holbrook , time for a rest stop - we'd travelled at least 85 klms !!! and were due for a driver change as well - there was another 80 odd klms still to go .
We turned and headed toward Jingellic , then toward Walwa and finally Corryong . It's been 8 years since we've been here , and about 12 years since we stayed at Colac Colac Caravan Park . Boy , has it changed , the creek still flows through - it's changed a bit due to floods - they've reinforced the bank with large rocks , and removed a tree or 2 that were a bit close - maybe the flooding removed the trees ????
We have camped under the trees & beside the creek for many years while i was hang gliding - 2 weeks every January for quite a few years were spent here .
Speaking of trees , we are parked underneath quite a few - they've certainly grown a lot as well . There's a new office & cafe , amenities have been upgraded and the park is looking really good .
The countryside has also benefitted from the Spring rains as well , long grass - dead now - all over the place . Rain has fallen recently as well , as the grass beside the road is showing a nice green . Speaking of rain , it has been raining lightly since we arrived , and has continued , hopefully it will stop overnight and clear up for the hang gliding competition that started on yesterday .
We are keeping up the river theme , this time we are close to the starting point of the Murray River .
