Best views of the coast & islands

Ah , Monday morning , people heading off to work at horrible hours , noisy cars - just as well we can roll over & go back to sleep !!! We got up at 7am so we could get any early-ish start on todays hike up Kemp Hill to Bluff Point Lookout - 600m above sea level - there is a well maintained track that leads you gently to the top of the hill , then back down the steeper section  or , if you’re feeling fitter , you can go the track that leads you up the steeper track first and down the easier track - some locals were making good use of the track - one girl passed us 3 times before heading to work. The track is 2.3klms long  , with views to die for .
Before arriving at the carpark , we stopped , and took a photo of Bluff Rock .

We set off on the easier section first , it takes you around the western side of Kemp Hill gradually rising all the time . Stopping to take in the view down over Mulambin Beach - tides go in & out a long way up here .

Before much longer , we found ourselves at the top and the vista that presented itself to us was awe inspiring - almost 360 degree views , ocean flat as a billiard table , islands all over the place , boats making their way to & fro , and mountains on the mainland !!!! An amazing view of this area !!! Great Keppel Island , North Keppel Island , 4XXXX Island , Humpy Island and many others were all visible .

After chatting to many locals & visitors at the top , we soaked up the views and finally decided to wander down . One of the locals even invited us for a cup of tea if we felt like it - he and his wife do the walking circuit twice - four or five times a week . Many other locals use it as a training track - one girl passed us three times .

There were a couple of lookouts on the way down that we stopped and consumed the views . Turtles were visible in the water below us - some were quite sizeable even though we were 300m above them !!
Back to the ute , we decided to head down to Emu Park for a look . There is the Singing Ship that makes noises when the wind is stronger than today , there is also a new Anzac Memorial - the RSL sub branch commissioned an artist to get a picture of the soldiers storming Anzac Cove - this picture is mounted on glass that you can see through , so you can line up the islands in the background on the horizon line - check the photo - it is even more awesome when the sun is rising !!! There is also a new raised walkway stretching 150m along the headland .

There are many damaged houses in Emu Park also , with no rhyme or reason why two old houses standing side by side - one loses a gutter , the other it’s roof & walls and is a write off ??
Here is a photo of the house in Yeppoon that I mentioned yesterday with the bed still made!!

Time for lunch , organise the washing , and do some shopping - another hectic day !!!!
