I decided to play golf today , and booked in for 11:40am in the competition . We had to go down town to get some things from the supermarket , while paying the lady at the checkout said to us -" don't you love this cold change " to which we replied NO , she explained by saying that the weather here is usually hot for 11 months of the year , and it was a nice for a change . Well to keep her happy the temperature didn't get over 22 degrees !!
Golf was interesting - I played with a 70 year old publisher , a 40 year old borer / blaster who works at a coal mine and a 40 something year old with a severely autistic son , who also accompanied him . It made for an interesting day , with the 40 year old , who hadn't played for 3 months , shooting one over par for the day , the 70 year old shooting 27 over par , the other 40 year old shooting 17 over par and I shot 16 over par - not so good , but considering there hasn't been any practice done in the last 3 months and I haven't been playing that much , its not a bad result .
Meanwhile , in my absence , Lyn went for a swim , sat and read for a while , did some washing , decided to clean the inside of the ute - generally enjoying her day .
A quiet day in the scheme of things , but a nice change .
