Rocky 10 &11/11/15

Hi everyone , we haven't forgotten you , just been a bit occupied .
Okay , here we go -
Tuesday , Pepper had a little sleep over with us , she was a little unsure  , but survived the stay . We had a busy morning - Lyn cooked a christmas cake and cleaned , I went under the RV and changed the jack motors around - unbolted them , turned them 90 degrees and reattached them - all to get the brushes in the motors horizontal , rather than vertical , to save on maintenance .
Cooked lunch followed , then we took Pepper for a walk at the beach before heading back to Emma's to drop her off again .
We had shopped yesterday at The Spud Shed - a discount fruit & veg & grocery shop , that sells everything at reduced prices , meat as well , and it was all pretty good stuff as well . The guy that owns these shops grows his own potatoes and quite a lot of them , he's in an ongoing battle with the potato board about how many tonnes he can produce and sell .
Wednesday , we headed off to Rockingham with the bikes . There are many kilometres of bike tracks that can be ridden , we chose to do the Rockingham foreshore - an 8klm return ride within metres of the beach and water . There was a bit of a headwind for the first half of the ride , but was going to be a tailwind for the second half . The southwest wind is a godsend in summer ( mostly called the Fremantle Doctor ) and blows in from the sea to cool things down .

The foreshore & esplanade here are beautiful , the water crystal clear , the colour changing as the water gets deeper . There is a fairly steep drop off not far from the beach and makes an ideal place to scuba dive - hence several schools have set up shop here to teach people how to dive .
Passing the promenade we came to the mooring area just to the west , there are hundreds of boats tied up here , and quite a few mooring buoys that aren't being used at the moment .

We got back to the ute and loaded the bikes again , then headed around to Point Peron to have some lunch on the beach . We chose a beach that is sheltered from the wind , and looks out to Garden Island - a Naval Base that is home to the submarine fleet .

Enjoying the sun , we sat for a while before going to do some more shopping before heading back to the RV .  Managed to get a tank full of diesel as well as a gas bottle swap on the way - not bad , we changed over at Kununurra about 11 weeks ago !!
Lyn cooked some tea for us & Emma , Mike & Deb and we took it round to their place . Day done !!
