Romance in the hills 9/11/15

Well , here we are again , what a weekend we've had ! After a delicious breakfast at Rockingham on Saturday morning , we headed out to look at Emma & Mike's new house being built , then headed into Perth on the train . We met Mike after he finished work , then headed up to Lesmurdie Falls in the Perth Hills , for a picnic and to watch the sun go down . The views over Perth were pretty good considering the way the day started with full overcast skies and a cool wind blowing - we changed into jeans and a jacket , as well as shoes !!! not happy about that !!!

About 20 mins before we arrived the sun started to break through creating a very nice sunset .
We joined Dave & Deb ( Mikes parents ) and we wandered up the hill a bit to the above viewpoint . A couple of group photos were taken before Mike proposed to Emma - to which she said YES , Mike was ecstatic , Dave & Deb , Lyn & myself were all very happy , Mike & Emma just seemed to be floating , enjoying the moment - both extremely happy !!!

We walked back to the picnic table to Mikes grandmother , letting the 2 love birds have a moment to themselves !!
The light was fading , just as a couple of visitors arrived - uninvited ones at that .

The first time we have seen bandicoots in the wild - if you can call suburbia , in the wild !!
As the light failed , we headed off stopping on the way down the hill , to view the lights of Perth . The 1st photo is what happens when you dont use a tripod to take a time exposure and give up half way through the process - it's a good effect anyway !!

Nothing else happened for the day - it was pretty special to be included , and we feel pretty special and very happy for both Emma & Mike !!!

Sunday was spent with Dave & Deb and  Mike & Emma - another great day !!

Today we visited the house again , then went for a picnic at Kings Park in Perth . Kings Park is one of the jewels in Perth , the grounds are immaculate all around the war memorial , you feel like you shouldn't be leaving the pathways . It's almost like being in a huge bowling green with undulations , with hundreds of people wandering around , having lunch , playing with their children and just enjoying the space - we were definitely enjoying the moment !!
The Contemplation Pool has an eternal flame commemorating the Anzacs , with views down to the monument and over Perth .
