Back again , we've been a bit quiet of late so it was time to get out & about & see some sights .
Around to Roebuck Bay and the boat ramps near the pier , we sat on some rocks ( there are quite a few ) and ate lunch , before going for a walk along the beach .

The rocks here are quite amazing , colours , textures and shapes . The ripple stone is eroded into lots of different shapes , this piece looked good .

Then in the space of 50m there is this very weathered stack .

Further along is a cliff face of weathered rock, it had 2 holes in it that looked as if someone had cut holes intentionally . The holes were almost 600mm round and the hole went into the cliff a few metres , and there is a rock sitting in one - looks like it has been cut out , but has been eroded away !!

The afternoon disappeared , we were going out for tea at Cable Beach Resort with Paul & Karen , but first we were going to check out the Stairway to the Moon - it's a natural phenomena that occurs at low tides and the moon rises over the sand flats , making it look like there is a staircase to the moon.

The weather is getting back to normal up here after being quite cool during the early mornings for the last week or so - it's been down to 9 overnight - not cold in the scheme of things , but cold for here , it's getting back to 19 overnight and in the low 30's during the day .
After a pleasant night , a nice meal & great company , we headed for home .

Thursday came round and we picked up Paul & Karen and dropped them at the airport for their flight to Perth .
The afternoon was spent wandering down another beach - Reddell Beach . It has stunning red cliffs and many more rocks and wide sandy sections . One rocky section has ripple stone in random sections - it almost looks like someone threw some old corrugated iron onto the beach . There is also some dark volcanic rock forming arches and other shapes .

Further along the beach the cliffs were getting redder , and as the tide receded , also reflected the image .

We must have got close to a whistling kite's nest , they got a bit agitated when we were in a certain section of the beach - guess they didn't want to share it !!

Along the beach there were little towers of rock , almost like the Pinnacles near Jurien Bay . There were also sections that looked like they'd been stacked up - but have just weathered that way .

Back to the ute and drove around to Gantheaume Point , before heading for home , Stairway to the Moon was happening again , and we picked up Kym & Caroline and headed back in to the markets , getting some Thai chilli chicken & prawns for tea - lives tough !!!!
Quite a crowd had gathered again , all waiting patiently - luckily we'd taken our chairs tonight , it was much more comfortable waiting for the moon to rise . It did just that and photos were being taken everywhere - phones , tablets , cameras , flashes going off ( not that they would help anyway )
I got some better photos tonight , here's one of them , my zoom lens isn't working too well at the moment , just waiting for a replacement to arrive .

That's it for today , stay tuned .
