14&15/7/16 Another mile or two

Another few ground hog days , it’s been windy - backing off a bit in the afternoons . The mornings spent inside , soduko’s and puzzles , relaxed mornings !!
Afternoons have been spent walking on the beach after riding around the park . Wildlife has been a bit scarce after our shark the other day , although we have been seeing lot’s of birds - zebra finches , spinifex pigeons , swallows , honey eaters , kites and whistling kites . We had up to 12 whistling kites flying around this morning . There are also some birds that are bigger than swallows , but soar in the wind like swallows , they have grey feathers and white underneath .

One small flowering plant has been a bit of a mystery - it has a very pungent smell - quite nice , but strong - even though it's been windy , you can smell it from quite a distance !!

The tide has been low in the afternoons and goes out a long way - it’s nearly a neap tide at the moment , which means it’s not going out or coming in very far . The tides here can vary about 6 to 7 metres .

We enjoyed our walks down on the low tidal flats , and found several other nice shells , including one bigger yellow one about the size of a mango - here’s a selection of them .

Friends Paul & Karen arrived today , it was good to catch up again , we chatted for an hour or so around lunchtime , and met up again and watched sunset with a couple of drinks and conversation . Yes another sunset - we have forced ourselves to watch these for you guys , just so we can relay it back to you !!

Another day done , it’s been tough !!!   hahahaha
