Lyn's drive today - lots of uphills & downhills , a few narrow bridges to get the concentration absolutely peaking , and through in a strong south westerly wind and you have an interesting drive . Then throw in a couple of ignorant drivers that wanted to overtake in a turning lane , then ran out of road - it became even more interesting !!! To be totally fair and beyond reproach , she did extremely well , and at the destination , she reversed the RV into place !!!!
We had set up by 12:30 , so then had lunch and cruised back into Narooma for some information and a drive north from Kianga to Dalmeny . We are camped 2klms south of Narooma as they had sites big enough for us - must be a bit of a theme happening here - guess what - no Optus service or internet and we're only 2klms from town - the locals told us internet & phone services here are terrible - must be very ordinary when it is peak holiday season .
Back to the drive north , beautiful viewing conditions as the sea haze was being blown out to sea , the water was still crystal clear , even though it was very windy , Montague Island was easily visible - wouldn't like to be there doing a tour today , you would need to be tied down so you didn't get blown away .
Montague Island and lighthouse
The coastline is ruggedly beautiful and worth spending time at each spot to soak it all in . There is also a bike track that runs from Narooma to Dalmeny and beyond . Could be an activity for the next couple of days .
Looking back at Narooma from Kianga
We arrived at Dalmeny and checked out the council park where you can stay - for a fee of course - as long as you have one leg longer than the other - to say it was on a slope would be underestimating it to say the least . We drove a little further to find access to Lake Mummuga , for another paddling spot which we found .
There are many drives and walks to do here - hopefully we will report on a few of these .
Getting back to Narooma , we checked out Riverside drive - boat sheds , marina & restaurants , playgrounds , parks etc , before heading up to the golf club to book in for Saturdays competition . It may be tough to play good golf while the views are this enticing .
Looking at Glasshouse Rocks
It will test my concentration out !!!
We are sitting at the surf life saving club , looking straight out at Montague Island , while writing todays news , speaking of that , that's it for today , hope you're enjoying the photos etc . Tune in tomorrow . Hope everyone is well .
Cheers
Alan & Lyn
