We take to the lake

Hi , todays tale starts at around 6:40 , with a child screaming loudly nearby - what a lovely way to wake up . His mother seemed to do little , even though she was being called in between screams . We gave up in the end and went next door and dropped their tent on them , well maybe not quite technically correct , we wished it would fall , so as to wake up the attentive parents !!!
Breakfast taken care of , we got organised and prepared for a paddle . We only had to go 25m to get to the lakes edge ,  so it was all very easy . The kayak slipped into the water , we jumped in and away we go , heading towards the beach about 3klms away . The lake is very shallow in lots of places , and we found ourselves skimming across wide stretches of sand in not very deep water .
We are continually amazed at how easy this kayak is to paddle and handle - it glides effortlessly with far less input than our previous kayak - even in 6 inches of water .
The water was quite clear , with a multitude of small fish , lots of other kayaks & canoes , stand up paddle boards , tinnies , speed boats and wake boarding boats . They all seemed to disappear to their own little section of the lake . The lake is surrounded by forests . For those that haven't seen Lake Conjola , I will give you a brief run down . There is a post office , general store , petrol station , boat hire and bait store - and that was all in one house , there is also a bowling club , 3 large caravan parks,  a bottle shop - lots of fishing huts and quite a few new houses as well . There is a double row of 2 storey units that have water frontage and mooring facilities for their boats . Also access to beaches as well - a very popular place .

The best part about Sunday is for most people it's moving day - moving back home to be ready for work - the park had returned to its quiet state by the time we returned to the RV .

We found an oyster farm that seemed to be the local resting place for the local cormorant population

We had paddled for about 2.5 hours and got back just as the wind on the water started to pick up - good timing !!
Lyn went for a swim while I took care of a few jobs that needed doing and then had lunch . After that we decided to modify the canvas bag we got for the kayak , so that it would fit a lot better - which it now does - and we ended up with a bag for the paddles as well - a very productive afternoon .
We are heading further down the road tomorrow , not sure where to - time will tell .
Cheers
