12/4/16 More rain

The rain eased overnight and stopped this morning , so we made the decision to head off , so we packed and dried and hooked up , then drove off . It wasn't too long afterwards that the rain started again . It was on and off for most of the drive .
The ute has been performing well , but the clutch has been flaring / slipping a bit when towing - only the odd occasion though , so we decided to make a phone call and get a heavy duty clutch fitted - that's happening Thursday , so we are at Katanning for a few nights .
We pulled into the park at about 3:30 pm , the mosquito's were queueing up to get to us - we've never seen them this bad before . We disposed of a dozen or so whilst setting up , then went to the mechanics to check in .
Back to the van and we remembered why we don't drive in the rain , fuel consumption goes up , and this is the first time we've driven in the rain for 12 months , there are a few areas that water gets in , that we need to look at .
Todays drive took us away from the coast and the bigger trees , back to grazing - beef & lamb , and also wheat & canola . Fields are turning green , still not a lot of growth , but the farmers are happy with the rain though .
Back to the van and dried some water out of the passenger side storage boxes , then eradicate mosquito's - it's now 8pm and I think we've got rid of them - we've killed about 30 - glad we didn't leave the door open !! We think they may have their own access door - they just keep coming !!
Too dismal for any photo's I'm afraid , so we'll see about some tomorrow - there are quite a few old buildings in town !!
