14/4/16 Katanning Clutch

Dropped the ute down to Toyota for the clutch replacement , should be ready late this afternoon . Turns out this is one of the weak points of the landcruiser , towing the 5th wheeler may have brought it on a bit quicker , lots of farmers around this area are having similar problems , Toyota have changed 3 in the last 3 weeks here - we're number 4 !!
The rest of the morning is spent doing odd jobs & cleaning , then a cooked lunch .
Got a missed call at 1:30pm , the ute was ready to go - score !!, that will reduce the cost a bit as well.
Off on the bike to pick it up . Saved some money on the quoted price , so that was good !! Still wasn't cheap , but you get what you pay for .
The next surprise I got was when I got in to drive away , I put my foot on the clutch , and nearly pushed it through the floor - it is lighter than the previous clutch , and it was pretty light to use . This is a heavy duty clutch , but easier to use !!
Back to the park , grabbed Lyn , and we went for a drive to test the ute out . We drove around town a little and found what was a Baptist Church retreat that is now a conference centre , quite a fine old building .

Next we headed out of town to the north east , all the fields are starting to green up after the rain , some dams are full , some only half full . It is certainly a change from the grey of wheat stubble & canola stubble fields .

The road was lined with gum trees arching over the top .

There were a lot of happy sheep & cattle about the place .

With that we turned around and headed back into town .
It was good to get a few jobs done around the van , and get things spick and span again ready for another move tomorrow .
