20/1/24 Glenbrae Gardens

Here we are again , moving south to the Margaret River region . The heat has been pretty horrible in & around Perth , in the high 30's and low 40's for too long , so we headed south for some cooler conditions . We caught up with friends in Bunbury , before going further south toward Augusta . It's popularity forced us to find somewhere different to stay , then we found this place - Glenbrae Gardens . It's a farm stay , no power , but there was some spring water access , as well as a small toilet block . The gardens were once used for wedding photos , but now it's for the benefit of guests , you can wander around the half an acre of many plants and way too many roses to even count . This was the view out of the van .

There were plenty of birds about , these little female wrens bounced around the place in the morning and afternoon .

This Superb Blue Wren was always close and handy to his little harem of females . While we sat outside , he would bounce around near our feet .

The roses were sensational , with lots of different colours and perfumes .

Paths lead you around the gardens , showing off different plants & views.

A white rose archway led into the lawned area to a wisteria covered pergola on the other side .

   Some more coloured roses .

Grevilleas lined the road outside and the drive down to our campsite .

There were about 4 different coloured Crepe Myrtles .

There are tables and chairs for you to sit and take in the views .

There's also the odd piece of ceramic art , etc in and around the gardens .

Here's a shot of the grevillea's that were out & flowering quite well .

We came down here to catch up with Kym & Caroline , friends from Bribie Island , whom we met back in 2016 .
