Hi , here we are , still in Katherine , today we are getting a new DC to DC charger installed in the RV and while their at it , we are getting an additional battery installed , exciting stuff - try not to fall out of your chairs !!!
Mark & Michael arrived just on 9am and set about their work - all done and working in about 25 mins , then we discussed batteries - and I asked if they could fit one - they could and were back after completing another job elsewhere , job done , bill paid , we were free agents again .
It was almost lunchtime , the RV was clean , our electrical problems solved , it was time for lunch . The temperature was nudging 32 - its a bit unrelenting up here - day in , day out , over 30 degrees !!
After lunch we headed to the information centre for some brochures etc , before going to the thermal pools . The info centre has been cleaned out of most brochures , so our visit was pretty much useless!!
I went across to the BWS to price some beer - they don't open till 2pm , strike 2 , okay , off to the thermal pools .
We parked and headed down , and jumped in , the temperature of the water was 32 degrees , so wasn't much cooler than the outside temperature , but we still enjoyed it . The water was flowing out of the spring at a great rate , we were below a small levee bank and the water was flowing over it quite rapidly . The water is clear , with small fish swimming around quite happily . Hopping out , we then started to cool down in the wind chill - more like just a little breeze - but cooled us down nicely.
Back to the BWS and it was open , so I scampered in to get some beer . There was a security guard at the door and 2 policemen inside , as we passed a bottleshop at the pub next door , we noticed a couple of police there as well - must be an interesting career up here being a police person !!
Back to the park for a cool swim in the pool , the temperature was nudging 35 , then some salsa & beer for a relaxed afternoon !!
That's it , not real exciting , but a quieter day after yesterdays 16 klm paddle & carry
