I dropped the ute off and headed down to the pier to meet up with the bike track that runs along the edge of Geographe Bay .
These photos are from a couple of years ago , today there's been a northerly wind blowing , so the water has been a bit churned up . The wind made the ride a little more difficult as well . Busselton and Geographe Bay face north - probably the only spot in the bottom half of the state that does . It does mess with your sense of direction a bit - Sunday we were at Surfers Point facing west when we were looking over the water , today at Busselton we are facing north !!
The ride took me just over half an hour to go 10 klms - for about 8.5klms I was beside the bay , quite a pleasant ride !!
We fiddled around for an hour or two before we got the message to pick the ute up , it was nearly lunch time , so we had lunch before I would ride back . A couple just down from us were heading into town and offered us a lift in , I thought about it for a while and we jumped in with them .
The ute hadn't been washed when we picked it up , but they gave us a voucher to go round to a car wash - so we did exactly that , it needed a good wash - it hadn't had one for a long time , and we'd been on lots of red dirt roads of late . The car wash was interesting - we haven't been in an automated one before - the lady attendant could see that as well , coming out of the office to give us a hand . We explained , she listened and directed us to one machine that we just had to drive into and up to the small tyre stops at the end - it was very close on the drivers side with the machine going over the top of the ute , missing the roofracks by a small margin and missing the drivers side mirror by even less . It went back & forth , spraying with pre rinse , soap and rinsing , wash & rinse , spraying again with some polish and streak free finish - it also sprayed underneath the ute - we came out looking new again !!
Shopping for food was next on the agenda , then we came back to the park and that's where we stayed !
Here's a couple of photo's from near Elliston in South Australia from a couple of years ago , just because I can .
Catch you tomorrow , Cheers
