29/3/22 Kalgoorlie

Travelled back to Kalgoorlie for another 4 days , washing to be done and decisions to be made - then some preparation for the next stage .

No trip to Kalgoorlie is complete without going to the Superpit Lookout - it has changed so much since we saw it in 2019 , the pit has been extended south , and the stockpiles of 2nd grade ore etc are increasing - seemed to be much higher than our memory recalled . The day was cool & overcast , we've even had some rain - yes rain - it does rain in WA !

You may be able to make out some white specks in the bottom of the pit - just to the right and below centre of photo - believe it or not , they are vehicles - utes !!

Hannan St is the main street of Kalgoorlie and has so many beautiful old buildings with great facades , so many hotels as well - not as many as they used to however !!

The Town Hall clock tower stands out for kilometres , with it's gold plated cap shining in the sunshine .

More of Hannan St - two lanes wide each way , with a traffic island and diagonal parking .

Well , we've washed , shopped , cooked and talked a lot about what's next , what's that you say ????       Well what's next is a slow trip across the Nullabor , we've tried a few times and been stopped by fires , floods ( up north ) , then covid . WA has been a safe haven for us in all the drama that's been going on for the last couple of years , but it's time we headed back east - not sure how long for though - don't get your hopes set too high 😉 .

Next blog will happen when & if we have service - we even went out and got a Telstra pre paid sim for the phone , cause Optus & Woolworth's telstra don't work real well across there . Cheers
