8/4/22 Bunda Cliffs Day 3&4

After a very quiet night at the tower , we find the wind has calmed down and the van & ute are completely covered in condensation . Well what do you do with all that moisture - Hmmm the van needs a wash , so after breakfast we gave it a wash - not a great wash , but after a few weeks in the bush and dirt roads , it was good to get rid of the dust .
After the wash we headed out to the highway and resumed our sight seeing , first up was Lookout No2 - they are numbered from Nullabor side , that being the reason we're going from No 3 to 2 to 1 .
Here's the view to the east .

We got chatting to another truck driver today , he disconnected his 2 trailers and drove down to the lookout - he hadn't stopped at this one for about 18 months , and was interested to see if it had changed any . You can see his truck parked in the turn around area .

Here we are , just a little selfie .

Aerial shots are the best way to see a lot more of the cliffs .

The cliffs are slowly cracking and falling into the ocean , you can see a slab here ready to go .

We wandered further around the cliffs and did a quick step back when we saw this - It is a crack that will fall when it's ready - hmmm , when will that be ???

Not much further up the road is Lookout No1 , so , as you do , you stop for a look again .Some sections of the cliffs have recently fallen and you can see the piles of rock that haven't quite made it into the water yet.

Another RFDS landing strip was just around the corner , here it is .

And there's a track to the cliffs again , where we had some lunch and we got these shots .

Further up the road again , we found another spot where you could have 100 vans in overnight , there were lot's of spots to camp . We chose one about 40m from the edge and set up for the night . Didn't get this one to ourselves though , there were another 6 vehicles in as well .

The wind wasn't too bad , but it was cool and only got cooler as the afternoon disappeared .

The sea spray helped make for interesting photos at sunset .

We woke to a strong northerly blowing , everyone else packed up and slowly disappeared , we decided we'd wait for the wind to hopefully ease a bit . The wind was going over the cliff and dumping on the water about 200m out - it looks calm here , but wasn't . We went for a walk along the cliff for a view of the eastern side - then looked back west ???

From a bit further east , the cliffs to the east curve a bit so photo's weren't great and also looking into the sun .

This weather beaten old bush must have been here for forever , looking at all the twisted & gnarled branches - it's still living !!
