Back with some internet , and some catching up . We drove from Mataranka to Katherine today - all 110 kms of it - we left at 9am and arrived at 10:30am , going to the information centre before going to our park for the next few days .
There have been burnt off areas beside the road . The land trusts do regular burning off this time of year , and there were still some smouldering away from a recent burn .
We were seeing a lot of caravans coming south , probably the same amount going north , it's still school holidays up here for another week .
Our tank of bad fuel at Normanton has caught up with us , the fuel light came on and stayed on , fortunately it didn't start flashing - that would mean water in the fuel and be very damaging for our engine . We rang Toyota and booked it in for a fuel filter change on Thursday - they squeezed us in - they are booked out a week in advance !!
Out to our park - 5klms out of town - should be quiet !! just the way we like it . Set up in no time , we had some lunch , then went shopping as we had depleted our pantry over the last week or so since we left Mt Isa .
Back to the park , restock and start catching up on emails and the blog , pity about the internet - it is interesting to say the least - slow , approaching dead at times , then quickish - nothing amazing , then nothing !!! Great fun when you've 7 days to catch up on !! No photos today sorry .
