Breakfast and pack up done , we were on the road at 8:15am , the temperature only 20 degrees . At 9am it was only 24 degrees - hmm might have to get a jumper out !!
The drive back to Carnarvon was rather quiet , with no one overtaking us , and only about 6 cars coming the other way in our 2 hour drive . The wind was picking up and we had a cross wind for most of the drive - it was blowing at about 40klms an hour , and pushing us about a little bit . We decided not to drive to the south ever again !! No, not really , but we won't head south till the wind drops somewhat - maybe on Wednesday .
We refuelled the ute , refilled the pantry and rested ourselves , before going over to the camp kitchen for the Monday Spud night - you get a large boiled spud , cut in quarters , with savoury mince or chilli con carne ( no Chilli ) , bacon , cheese , coleslaw and sour cream ( all so healthy ) then you can add some chilli , sauces , salt & pepper . All that for $5 each , and that money goes to the Vanuatu cyclone appeal , just one of the things they do at Wintersun Caravan Park , they have pizza nights on Sunday and roast beef rolls on Thursdays .
