Paddling in the coral gardens 24/9/15

A solid nights sleep woken by the bladder , so up & into the day .  First thing was to load the kayak up and go for a paddle . We drove around the back of the park where the road to the boat ramp is , checking out the fuel station - an unmanned 24hr one - then continued down the road , the bitumen ended and a sand track appeared , okay it's not a big place Coral Bay , so maybe they haven't got round to getting the road done up , so we kept going on this single lane track , with a couple of passing opportunities , and came out beside the toilet block at the boat ramp carpark . Driving over the gutter we entered the carpark from the new side entrance - the one that not everyone uses , just a special few !! Driving down to the huge double boat ramp and small marina , we pulled up to the left and unloaded everything before returning the ute to the carpark . As we slipped into the water at the ramp , we noticed the breeze had picked up a bit , but we continued on , paddling up to the point where we swam & snorkelled yesterday . The further we went , the stronger the wind got , and the higher the swell got as well , making it a tad uncomfortable . Stopping short of the bay , discretion was far better than valour - we turned and headed back , and that was the easy part , the wind was returning us to where we started , just had to do some steering to keep us on track .
Now I'd love to tell you we were gliding over a huge coral garden - well we were !!! ,  it was just a shame about the wind & swell , anyway Lyn enjoyed seeing what I was snorkelling around and over yesterday .
Making it back unscathed , just covered in salt spray , we carried the kayak back up to where we unloaded it , before getting the ute and loading up again . Magically a road appeared out of the carpark , they're very efficient here - fancy getting a road built in about 1.5 hrs !!! We chose the new road and were back in no time at all , we even checked the fuel price here  - $1.539 lt
We unloaded and proceeded to give all the gear a wash down , before sitting and contemplating the world !!
Lunch done , we changed and headed down to the beach for a swim and snorkel . The water didn't appear to be as warm as yesterday , or as clear , visibility was not as good , but still reasonable .
We met another Victorian couple , Peter & Sandy ,who we've been seeing regularly on the way round and chatted to them for a while , they're coming round tonight !!
Bad news , the camera didn't make it outside today , so you'll just have to see some other photo's from yesterday .

Stay tuned , tomorrow may be more interesting !!
