1/9/22 Timber Creek

Okay , we've been talking about how hot it's been - this is at 10:36PM ; 29.8 degrees still !!!

Wake up the next morning ( then remember to take another photo an hour later haha ) It was 26 degrees when we got up ! I know , you're thinking well , you wanted to be warm , there you go !!

First stop was Policemans Point down at the river , stumps beside the tracker still smouldering from the fire yesterday !! Following the track we made it to the point , this is looking north up the river .

This one's looking down the river .

Next we went up to the Nackeroo Lookout , then town lookout - which is where this photo was taken .

From the Nackeroo Lookout you can see the Bradshaw Bridge over the river , it gives access to defence force staff - they use it as a bombing range , so defines force personnel only .

The mountains in the distance are covered in smoke haze today , hopefully that clears and we get to see things better .

Here's some more Kapok Tree flowers and seed pods .

Down to the Bradshaw bridge - you can walk along the bridge , just cant get to the bank on the other side !

Looking down into the river , we spotted these jellyfish - mainly white , and they were up to 400mm wide .

There were plenty of them too - they can grow nearly to 1m wide - we found one last year on our Kimberley Cruise .

A houseboat was anchored just off the boat ramp at Big Horse campground .

Back into Timber Creek to have a drive around town , some Mulla mulla was out in flower - so what do you do , take a photo .

Or 2 , there was Desert roses out in flower as well .

Here's an aerial shot from earlier at Policemans Point .

As a side note , while Operation Pitch Black was going on last night , we heard some loud bangs and thought they were utilising the bombing range , no there were 2 jets breaking the sound barrier . It was a distinct bang , then an echo , then another bang and echo  , bouncing around the cliffs and valleys .
