5/9/22 Packsaddle Rd & Lilly Lagoon sunset

Another day , another side of the river . This time it's the southern irrigation area and our destination is Andys Chasm - but only if we can find it !! We found the end of Packsaddle Rd and a track that disappeared into the scrub - what else do you do , you go for a drive down it !! It was apparent we were heading in  the wrong direction , but we kept going , finding patches of bull dust that seemed to just rise around the ute & hide it from everything - wouldn't like to be outside when you drive through it !!

We couldn't get to the river ( the Ord ) so it was time for an aerial view - just in time to see the tour boat heading up to the dam .

The mountains are the Carr Boyd Range .

A couple of fires just to the east of Kununurra

Seeing as we'd crossed that track off , we headed back and onto another - this one was taking us the right direction , getting rough , but at least the right direction . Finding a section that we didn't want to drive through , it was time for a look from above . This was where we were trying to get to !!

And this track would have taken us there , but was through a locked gate .

No further luck , there seems to be another road , but it appears to go through property with signs saying trespassers will be prosecuted . Don't like not finding our way there , but that's life ! This view is from one of the cotton fields on the right and corn in the middle .

There are many mango plantations on this side .

Interesting , some of the sandalwood plantations were being knocked down , must have reached it's use by date , as they were also replanting it again !!

    Here's some of the mango's

These are the flowers & mango's starting to form .

Back for a swim , 39 degrees again , hot hot hot !!! The sky was still alight at sunset !

And burst into flames later 😆
