27/8/22 Coomallie Creek & Wardle Creek

Darwin is now in the rear vision mirror as we head back south , the weather is heating up and getting humid - the build up starting early maybe ?? The build up is the time before the wet season starts , it gets humid , clouds build daily , threatening to dump rain , but it doesn't happen , just stays hot & humid . We decided we didn't need to experience this so made the decision to head toward WA . Weather forecasts aren't looking favourable for going south , so west it is !

After a stop in Adelaide River for a fuel top up , we stopped at a little rest area called Coomallie Creek - what a pretty place this is - a beautiful little creek running through the bush , the ground is covered in leaves , lot's of shade - a little oasis .

Not too much else to report , except we stayed at the same gravel pit again , about 20 kms from Edith Falls turn off .
Had some visitors during the late afternoon , a pair of Double Barred Finches came hopping around us .

Another hot day , and it was nice to be saying goodnight to the sun for some relief from the heat .

So far I haven't really tried to take photos of the stars , but given the clear night and no light pollution , I decided to give it a try . Various camera settings were used until I was reasonably happy with the results . This is one of the first ones - Southern Cross is at the bottom middle of photo .

These next ones were of the cloudy part of the Milky Way .

We were amazed at how many stars are out there !

And this is probably the best one .

   That's it for today , here's map link :- https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=13nz7rpYPJjUj_hrZuEGqz7APiKpzPII&usp=sharing
