5/8/22 Wunara Free Camp

Dragging ourselves away from the Lake , we crossed over the border - an interesting side note , while I was out taking this photo a car decided to overtake a car & caravan going into qld , then preceded to jump on the brakes and pull off the road to take a similar picture to this one - I turned around after I heard the screaching tyres , and saw the car trying to stop on the gravel - and people complain about cars& caravans , this idiot should have just handed his license in on the spot !!

We then headed off into the NT , driving through the wide open spaces of the Barkly , which is an area of wide open grazing lands used for fattening cattle ! The road wasn't too busy , but there seemed to be a stream of cars & caravans heading east - good for us ! After about 150klms we stopped after finding another free camp near a small dam , and decided that would do us for today .

Birdlife was amazing , hundreds of Zebra Finches , Budgerigars , Galahs & this one just having a cool off . I watched him standing on the side of the dam , then just wandered in and enjoyed the cooling from the water .

Here's some of the Zebra Finches .

   Also having a drink .

There were a dozen or so galahs , here's some of them .

Then there was this Dove .

The dam was ringed with wattle trees , some still flowering , also some mini Mulla Mulla .

An aerial view of our campsite .
