Arriving in Borroloola , we set up camp at the caravan park and took care of lunch , then went for a swim in the pool to cool down . It was nice to not go anywhere else for the day , after several days of travelling . Next morning we went out for a ride on the bikes , this is down at the new boat ramp on the McArthur River . It's funny that this beautiful river exists in a place that's so dusty & dry !!
It's another of Mother Nature's cruel tricks - you can't swim in this beautiful clean water , due to the presence of snapping handbags - crocodiles !!
This is the old Borroloola Police Station - now a National Trust building .
The moon was appearing before sunset , so a good opportunity to get a photo .
This is another section of McArthur River from near the old boat ramp . The road going over the river is the way to Hells gate & Qld via Hwy 1
These are some of the community houses across the river - town is on the left hand side of the river .
